About the Poet

Destiny Drotzur loves talking in third-person (not).

Since she was a little girl, Destiny has always known war. Causes can be traced back to vagabonds, a martyr complex, religion, and her own guerrilla tactics.

After countless, sleepless nights Destiny finally did herself a favor. She picked up an old notebook and pen. After years of writing her most sacred thoughts, Destiny decided it was time to share her thoughts. Defining moments usually arrive in a conflict, or a lesson learned. Don’t get her wrong, conflict does not equate to war; however, war equates to conflict. Subatomic particles abide by their laws, and yet destruction takes no pause.

She sincerely hopes you enjoy it.

My focus

I focus on poetry that confronts the realities of conflict, capturing both the beauty and horror of war. My goal is to provoke the idea that we need conflict in our lives. It is only when we feel the absence of such discord that we know we have reformed.

Inspiration

The inspiration behind this blog comes from being around the contentions of war since a young girl. The resilience found in war poetry, reflecting personal and collective struggles, and shedding light on the human condition.
